Speaking Their Journeys: Holding Space for Parents of Elementary Students

I was invited to do a parent workshop at Cardenas Elementary School. We chose the Journey Footprints workshop and translated it into Spanish. The footprint seemed timely for the close of the workshop series. The parents created wonderful art, but when they stood up and shared their journey it was empowering! Many of them said it was the first time they were given space to share about their journey to the United States and their hope for the future. AWBW is a such a gift but without a training scholarship I would not have been able to participate.
