On Her Way

I chose the River Stories workshop as my client was having difficulty seeing that she can move on from a recent diagnosis of dyslexia. She was feeling very discouraged and was unsure how she would overcome the weight of learning this information about herself.

This child is very intellectual and emotionally intelligent for her age and this activity was a great fit for her. She was able to see that she has been through different obstacles in her life (moving, being in aftercare a lot while mom was working) and that she can make it through hard things- including dyslexia!

She was able to make connections that getting through hard things helps to make us who we are. On her river bank she wrote “I am on my way.”
