We Rise Journey: Inspiring Young Adults Aging Out of the Foster Care System

This “Innovator Spotlight” video features Pat Conlon, from Stepping Forward LA, an organization dedicated to empowering young adults aging out of foster care to transition successfully to adulthood and reach their fullest potential.

Alongside former foster youth interns, Pat is developing the We Rise Journey, using art as a way to build a fabric of connectivity that honors the arc of transformation, including the raw and challenging moments.  With We Rise Journey, art becomes the medicine to celebrate and acknowledge things they are rising from, as well as what they are looking toward. It is a way to use art as an anchor as they innovate their own paths.
