Vision Flowers

I facilitated the Vision Flowers art workshop for a group of community members looking to reconnect with their inner voice and reflect on the personal values guiding their lives. Inspired by Manuela Rojas’ Personal Needs Flower, this workshop invited attendees to step into a space of creative self-reflection and nourish the seeds of their personal vision through art.

Ahead of the gathering, I shared short journaling prompts to gently prepare the group. These included questions like Who am I becoming? and What rituals or values keep me rooted? Simple reflections that helped everyone arrive with a sense of intention.

We opened the session in our Artistry Circle with a grounding ritual of breathwork and visualization. During this moment of calm, I guided our community through a brief journey, allowing everyone to imagine the impact they hope to make in the world.

From there, we moved into a journaling exercise. I asked: What guides your vision?, encouraging each person to reflect on a mantra, poem, affirmation, or cherished saying. This became the bud of their vision flower, the center from which everything else would bloom.

Once we had our guiding center, we stepped into the heart of the workshop: the creation phase. Over 40 minutes, participants crafted their own Vision Flowers. Each petal represented something unique, rituals that grounded them, creative outlets that sparked joy, mentors or loved ones who uplifted them or affirmations they returned to again and again.

It was a quiet, soulful process. Some drew in pastels, others wrote in ink, some painted, and others opted for cutting with paper and scissors.

Community members were encouraged to place their flowers somewhere close: on a mirror, a wall, or a desk, so they could reflect on their intentions and affirmations throughout the day. This workshop invited a celebration of each participant’s uniqueness, individual path, and a reaffirmation of who they are becoming.
