Reflecting On Who I Am

Last month was the 1-year anniversary of my AWBW Facilitator Training. So, to reflect on my experiences facilitating workshops over the last year, I took some time to do the workshop “The Facilitator In Me”.

As a dance/movement therapist and fairly embodied, sensory-oriented human, the past year of working remotely has been challenging. I miss the feeling of setting up the space before a workshop to help facilitate safety and connection. I also miss the magical sense of presence that we find together when creating all in the same room.

Getting to spend time reflecting on who I truly am as a facilitator and what it feels like when we get to create together really helped me reconnect to my core values as a counselor: curiosity, openness, acceptance, and love. As I was creating my image I got to feel how these exist within my body in a way that I have felt disconnected from in the last several months. And it reminded me that we can create this magical, loving space even while we work remotely, it just has to start with me.

This was such a nourishing and reaffirming window of time for me!
