Creating Safe/Brave Spaces for Staff

Cultivating safety and grounding is essential for the foster care clients that my colleagues and I at A Greater Hope are entrusted to serve. Completing the Creating a Safer/Braver Place art workshop alongside one of my dear colleagues and mentees provided a meaningful opportunity to center ourselves, refill our emotional cups, and focus intentionally on the feelings that foster safety and comfort.

The workshop was a success in that it encouraged us to reflect on what makes us feel safe, grounded, and secure — and to express those things through art. My colleague shared, I loved this workshop. It reminded me to fill my cup so that I can pour into others.” The process not only nurtured our creativity but also deepened our self-awareness and emotional resilience, both of which are vital in the work we do each day.
