Showing Up for Me

I chose to create inspiration rocks but had to improvise a bit! Initially, I had planned to create inspiration rocks with clients, but as a client-centered therapist, I meet my clients where they are at. I decided to move forward with the activity during my own free time. As a baby therapist who is currently navigating challenges with identity and change, I thought it would be helpful to be creative.

I took my time decorating my “rock.” I went on Pinterest for any inspiration and drew/colored how I was feeling in the moment. Once I was happy with my background, I spent time pondering what message/word I needed most in that moment. Serenity – to be calm and at peace, to slow down and allow my thoughts to unwind. It felt right.

As someone who is constantly on the go and feeling overwhelmed, this creation was a great reminder to pause, breathe, reflect, and rest. If I show up for others, I must also show up for myself.
