Penelope’s Legacy: Preserving Love and Connection in Pediatric Hospice Care

This “Uplifting Voices: Facilitator Stories” video features Penelope Thomason who launched an art program at TrinityCare Hospice in 2004. She found that art enabled patients and their families to process their grief and create a lasting legacy of connection in the face of so much loss. This video shares a 2017 interview conducted upon her retirement, along with images of the powerful Family Tree project Penelope facilitated with countless families. This video was created to launch a scholarship fund: “Penelope’s Legacy.” We hope that through this fund, each year in perpetuity, Penelope’s voice, encouragement, and legacy of leadership will live on and inspire a new facilitator in a variety of fields – cancer, wellness, hospice, etc. You can support at awbw.org/penelope
